Voice Over Collector

In this project, Appen collects Korean speech data to train and develop artificial intelligence algorithms that will be used to improve speech recognition technology.

We are recruiting Koreans who can read and record short Korean sentences using the Appen Mobile app.

Project Description: The task of reading and recording 1000 short sentences on a smartphone screen using the Appen Mobile app. You don’t have to create a sentence separately, just read the sentences written in Korean.

Example of a sentence you should read: “Okay Alexa, give me directions to work”

Duration: It takes an average of 3-6 seconds to record each sentence. Plan for 5 hours to record a total of 1000 sentences. Of course, you are advised to take a break during the recording, and you will be given at least 5 days to record all sentences.

Requirements for participation in the project:

• Owners of the latest smartphone devices
• iOS device must be iPhone 8 or newer
• Android devices must be from 2017 or later
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be a native Korean speaker living in Korea
• Must be able to record in a very quiet indoor environment with no background noise
