What You’ll Learn & Achieve

Working under the supervision of the global team and support the renewable energy certification projects globally. He/she will evaluate design calculations for approval of the structural components like hub, shaft, frames etc. mainly focusing on wind turbines. Additionally, he/she will inspect customer factories to witness the correct implementation of specific designs of nacelle and hub in the manufacturing process. Structural analysis according to international guidelines will be the main technical aspects of the job.

Further, the engineer will be responsible for administration requirements relating to certification, independent execution and timely completion of projects by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications, coordinating with clients during the course of the project.

Working closely with the Segment leader and Global team, the Engineer will be responsible for Project execution, Customer management and expanding UL Renewables Certification services in Korea.

Key responsibilities are,

  • Communication with business partners and customer relationship management in Korea and abroad
  • Project Management of certification projects – working together with Regulatory bodies and customers
  • Project Co-ordination
  • Evaluation of structural components (casted or forged) according to international standards like IEC 61400-1 “OR” Evaluation of gears, shafts and bearings according to international standards like IEC 61400-1
  • Inspection of manufacturer’s facilities to witness correct implementation of specific designs of nacelle and hub in the manufacturing process
  • Structural analysis and FEA calculations with commercialized numerical simulation tools (example ANSYS or similar) “OR” Mechanical analysis with commercialized tools like KISSsoft

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, or any equivalent field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of in wind energy
  • Experience in structural analysis, fatigue failure, FEA calculations, structural steel materials and cast materials OR Experience in commercialized software KISSsoft
  • Hands on experience in project management
  • Hands-on experience on manufacturing processes
  • Willingness to travel (within Korea and outside the country)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills (English speaking and writing)
  • Customer focus, commitment and independent work
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to work in a fast paced consultancy environment
  • Ability and willingness to develop and expand business
  • Experience in the continuous development of work processes (Lean Six Sigma) is desirable
