What you’ll do

As a Case Manager you are responsible for the planning and management of reentry/transition plans for residents referred from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), United States Probation (USPO), and United States Pre-Trial Services (USPT). Specifically, you will assists residents with attaining employment, securing housing, accessing treatment, and developing independent living skills in addition to other needs important to a successful community transition. Case managers utilize practices that are evidence-based and client-centered including a research-validated assessment tool and cognitive skill building and motivation strategies designed to reduce recidivism. With the Residential Reentry Center, as a Case Manager you will be considered “key staff” and as such is integral to the overall effectiveness of the program operations.

As a member of the Pioneer team, the Case Manager you are expected to collaborate with other staff and community partners to promote a pro-social and supportive program climate that encourages the development of independent living skills. As a Case Manager you are encouraged to make recommendations to improve operational policies and procedures consistent with program goals and the Pioneer mission.

What you’ll bring

Work experience be substituted for academic studies exchanging one year of work experience in a related field for one year of academic education. Total work experience needed in lieu of the combination of education and work experience is five years.

  • Four-year degree in social, human services, criminal justice or behavioral science program from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum one year of experience working in human services, corrections, or community based services
  • If required by location, employee must have a valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance, and a driver’s abstract/driving record acceptable to Pioneer’s auto insurance company; employee must meet requirements of Pioneer’s approved driver policy and guidelines
  • Must be able to pass and maintain security clearances as required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP)
  • Must become CPR & First Aid certified within two weeks of hire and maintain throughout employment

Preferably you’ll bring

  • Master’s degree in human services, social sciences, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in the human services, criminal justice, correctional system(s), or related field
  • Case management experience
  • Proficiency in using SecureManage
  • Certifications or previous training in evidence-based criminogenic risk assessments, cognitive behavioral programming, and motivational interviewing
